On Track Network

WORK SHOP SAVE THE DATE FEB 20-21 2017 (see call for trial proposals)

The ON TRACK Network (OTN) is a National Maternal and Perinatal Clinical Trials Network for improving the health of mothers and babies across New Zealand. The Network has multidisciplinary involvement and aims to engage all District Health Boards across the country to;

  • identify the key research questions in maternal and perinatal health;
  • facilitate multicentre, collaborative trials and studies in maternal and perinatal health;
  • assist in the implementation of new research findings.

Wider integration of research into everyday clinical practice will allow pregnant women and their babies to consider participation in randomised clinical trials (RCTs) as a standard part of their care. More timely completion of important clinical trials and assistance in dissemination of new research findings will increase the knowledge base of local practitioners and ultimately improve the care we provide for New Zealand women and their babies.

An integral part of OTN activity involves close communication with all health care professionals working in the field. We have a monthly newsletter which features research news, profile OTN sites/staff, introduction to RCTs currently recruiting in New Zealand and summary findings of recently published RCTs or observational studies that may have implications for practice. Many will receive a copy of the newsletter by email circulation from your local DHB Site Network Leader but past newsletters can be found here for your reference.
